Taste was an Irish rock band, formed in 1966 by Rory Gallagher, after he had stopped The Impact (an outgrowth of the Fontana showband). It was a three piece band to example of Cream, with the first occupation in addition to Rory consisted of Eric Kitteringham and Norman Damery. In 1967 took this trio what demos on which appeared on LP in the 1970s under the title Early Taste. If small club player grew the band at the end of the 1960s in the new formation with Richard "Charlie" McCracken (bass) and John Wilson (drums) to a great live act. The Rory Gallagher's guitar playing was a revelation for many. Highlight among other things it was occur during the festival on the Isle of Wight in 1970. The lp Live at the Isle of Wight is a good reflection of the music of Taste. Mutual feuds (Richard and John felt that Rory assumed too much attention) ensured that the band ceased to exist at the end of 1970. Richard and John have still, without great success, in different bands played. The career of Rory Gallagher did get a sequel. In 1971 he formed a band under his own name. Again a three piece band with Gerry McAvoy on bass and Wilgar Campbell on drums.
