Nice to see such a good record at a bargain price.

Took me years to ID this. Complete devastator! 1st heard it on a Fluid tape @ One Nation Valentine's '02 I believe, although have tried to find that set since and failed.. Seem to remember Fearless saying along the lines of he'd never worked with, or basically heard of, Fluid before then he dropped this and Fearless was well impressed

That set you are talking about is on SoundCloud, was listening to it earlier. Fearless actually said he's never heard Bailey play a One Nation before, he was on after Fluid on the same tape. Great tune this though, was so happy when I found out what it was. Heard a few Djs play it but not many

Both side are typical Teebee style of that time. That's why they were signed on Subtitles - good skills to copy a label-boss sound.

Nightmare Walking isn't the one for me, and a couple others have mentioned it so I'll leave it out of this review. Let's talk about Hybrid..."Hybrid" is a Future Prophecies track that went under the radar somewhat in my opinion, not even to be found on Youtube until now. Released in 2001, and in Subtitles' heyday, this is the B side to "Nightmare Walking" which is featured on DJ Hype's Fabriclive CD. Each part of this track builds up ever so subtly, creating a mood I've heard in no other drum & bass music. You're hit with deep kicks from the start, and macabre synths setting the level throughout. Eerie vocals filter through the drums as the pace steps up, before the track peaks around 3 minutes through. Future Prophesies' textbook flute samples make the track complete, soothing you down with the drumfunk. This is the Subtitles sound, perfect uplifting music from start to finish. Simple as that.It's tunes like this that really make you question the heavier side of drum & bass these days I think - this is an outstanding composition of so many elements, all infused to form a flawless atmospheric stepper unlike anything you'd hear today. Standard techstep tracks count for nothing when all is said and done, but there's deeper grooves on this record, a masterclass that some of the newschool dancefloor heads should learn from. Hats off Future Prophecies, this is one of the best tunes in my collection and one that'll remain in the bag indefinitely.

An underrated release from the Future Prophecies camp. "Nightmare Walking" has a great intro with a dark soundscape that just builds until the drop comes in. I could imagine a horror movie with a chase scene while this tune plays. Later on this tune gets remixed as "Electronic Funk" which is an even more aggressive and darker dnb tune. "Hybrid" is appropriately titled, for it blends in styles of dnb,hip hop,and jazz with dark tones into one tune. The pace and construction of this tune is really nice, because they build and build until all styles blend in perfectly together. Nicely done.

I prefer the tighter reeces and drum roll in Nightmare walking than Electronic Funk. This is much darker IMO. And you've got those cool chords around the 5 minute mark. This is a wicked track

This is deep and devastating stuff. Grooverider played it as his first track at Medicine Bar in Birmingham in October live on Radio One - got rewound twice! Off the hook hardcore madness. Killa tune!

I remember that show! It was the first time i heard it as well. He also played some stuff by Jonny L and Peshay if my memory serves me right
