Strangely few reviews of this. "An ending Ascent" is probably the finest ambient track ever. The whole album is essential though so pick up on your next trip to the record store. Bliss.

You might expect me to agree given my moniker, but I'd have to say that 'Ascent' is only the second best ambient track ever. First place has to go to Eno's 'Prophecy Theme' from the Dune OST. That said, if you listen to 'Prophecy' you can hear where Eno got his inspiration from for this wonderful track -- just have a listen to Harold Budd's 'The Gunfighter'...

I couldn't agree more !!! I got this album in late 90s in vinyl form , due to the nature of music and several other genres on the way , it's been sitting in a box where I carefully stored it eversince ... a year ago , I dowloaded a vinyl flac copy , currently listening to it through hi-end headphones and this track always brings tears in my eyes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All the songs with the word "stars" in it are similar and are the best. Under stars is my favorite. Deep blue day and silver morning are also nice tunes, although a little on the cheesy new age side of things. Stars is sometimes more satisfying to listen to when you appreciate length in songs.
