@ PrimaFax. The red vinyl was limited to 5000 copies and is becoming quite rare. This copy has I think 2-3 tracks that are not on the red vinyl. That's the difference.

You are correct, having both the red vinyl and picture vinyl I stand corrected

Unless they aren't listed here on the site, the tracklisting for this is the exact same as my numbered translucent red copy from the first batch of the remaster pressings.

I wonder what's the difference between this one and the 2013 USA red vinyl edition. Sure, this one's limited edition (which explains the 100€+ prices on the Internet...) but I think content-wise it's exactly the same.

The 2013 version was pressed by Audio Fidelity, who is known for remastering and pressing some of the best sounding vinyl in the world today. This version is released by Warner Music Group. So probably not even remastered, though can't verify.

This 2015 release appears to be on opaque red vinyl; the 2013 releases were translucent red vinyl.

I really can't understand the one star ratings this release has got from a couple of contributers. The whole package is fantastic. A heavy duty gatefold sleeve and delightful 180gsm red vinyl pressing which is faultless with excellent mastering. What's not to like?

I cannot fault your reasoning. It's very difficult buying new release film soundtracks on vinyl for a sensible price (£12-£15). Everything is limited edition these days and it's not really the labels fault. Demand for any given release is still a little unpredictable. Pressing 500-1000 units is a safe option but for popular titles they sell out quickly. My issue is not so much with the labels deliberately creating this scenario but the bastards deliberately buying up as many copies as they can (thus depriving the average guy) a chance to buy at a normal price. It pisses me off that I keep missing out on these new releases then have to pay 2x or 3x the price within the first few months. However there is some hope - as vinyl continues to increase in popularity these sorts of issues will become less and less of a feature. Labels will have the confidence and resources to press more quantities. At the end of the day they want to get a quality product outthere for everyone to enjoy
Stan
The price is daft, you can still get sealed/mint copies of the previous two presses for ~£30 or less.

I can certainly see your point, especialy if you don't live in the UK, but I'm sure that after all the fuss has died down copies will be available at a more reasonable price. It's the same with Record Store Day releases which tend to be massivly expensive for a few weeks online then common sense kicks in and they can usually be bought for the proper price.

The grumpy part of me is thinking about the ltd 500. In 2013, Audio Fidelity made an amazing repress of this great soundtrack, first limited to 5000 in red, and after another run of 5000 in red too. I think it's an honest quantity regarding the popularity of this. 500 is ridiculous. The only justification is to make money, and have enormous price on ebay and discogs, to artificially create a price bubble to something who really don't need that. It's always the same argument: coloured + 180g + heavy gatefold + very limited = money. I cannot agree with this aggressive commercial tendencies in vinyl market.
