Friendly Children is definitely the easier play, but Timeisfinicharunninout is divisive Parrish at his best. Spacey, weird, time shifting. It's likely to clear the floor of your instagram renta crowd, heads on the other hand will weep i'm sure... well i would.

Has anyone got a non distorted version or is it just how it is? Fairly frustrating...

I got the last pressing form March 2016 and it sounds fine. The mixing is just raw and the kick was recorded as clipped but that thats the way this record was recorded. Still sids fine to me, it is juts the way it its.

Repress now at Junorecords. Hope that this pressing won´t have the problem with the distorted bassdrum.

my copy is a repress and unplayable - not sure if i speak for every copy though..

Spoke to decks records and they told me, that the repress is the same. So who was unhappy with the pressings before should not get the repress, as the sound is the same.

I own copies and they have they use the original Mark J Richardson @ Prarie Cat Mastering lacquers. Mark @ PCM stopped cutting a year ago.I think the distorted kick drum is Theo's intent, other wise he would have remastered and had lacquers re cut.

I asked a shop who sells the repress and the guy told me the kickdrum was distorted. Too bad, the ep is great!

How do you know?

It looks to be pressed from the same metal work as the original so I would not expect any change from the original pressing.

Can someone please update re the quality of the repress? Will have to re-buy this if improved!

Be very careful not to get a pressing, where the bassdrum is so distorted, that "Friendly Children" is as good as unplayable (See the comments below).

Repress there.

"Friendly Children" is one of those super nasty Theo jams that works as well on the floor as on the mind. It may not sound that way the first time you hear it, but it's the truth. The flip is a tough one. it starts off super slow, you can play that part at 45 and mix it with house. when it breaks down though, you gotta turn it down to 33 again to keep a similar tempo. Very bizarre, and certainly not "easy".

Or you just jump the tempo, it's a tempo jump track, nothing weird about it :)

The worst thing about this whole project is the fact the vinyl is pressed so atrociously that it's close to unplayable. Scratch that, it is unplayable. What upsets me the most about it is that 'Friendly Children' is one of the best tracks I've heard for ages - I desperately want to be able to play this out and put it on CDs - only the sound quality is so bad that that's not an option. It makes me weep everytime I try to listen to it.

Side A of my copy is a mess, too. Is there any version out there, where the bassdrum of Friendly Children doesn´t sound like the subwoofers just collapsed? And if so, how to distinguish the good from the unplayable ones?

My copy crystal clear- although the A side kicks need a touch of extra weight on the tone arm, or a centre clamp, for sure...

I wonder why this pressing is still sold, it has been a great disappointment... Noise present on both sides for me at certain parts on the kicks

Yep, kick drum on the A-Side is distorted to vinyl.

One more for the collection from Theo. Timeislafinacharunninoot starts on the ground. drop dead slow and builds and climbs up into an addictive boogie. Good social track for introducing the dancefloor. Friendly Children provides you with a wonderful Lo Fi dj tools record for the eq happy dj. I can't get into the mid section with the off key pads it has. I have to get out before I hear it otherwise it bugs me. Totally destructive to the Friendly Children who are stuck in my head na na na-ing the day away.
