Ynonno
Another one of those outlandish looking artefacts, that [will] cause a endless spaculation. How can one not love a library record where the first 8 tunes go by the name 'Plancton'? I assume that this was made in the mid-60s as it has the BIEM rights society tag, like many of those older italian library records (check the first Omicron releases for example). The tunes on side A might be the score for a underwater documentary. I always refer to these compositions as the 'Plancton Suite'. Stunning, adventurous orchestration like you know it from your favourite movies that were scored by John Barry and alike. Plancton makes you literally dive deep into some good old memories, while side B takes you on a easy-going sightseeing trip to Venice. The records sound is fading out into infinity, with the beautiful Laguna Fosforescente, which means something like Phosphorescent Lagoon. It is a composition where you can’t tell if beauty or anxiety prevails and a marvellous way to end a record with.Sandro Brugnolini seems to have been involved in composing and maybe even conducting, too, even if he is not being mentioned on the sleeve which is a class of it’s own, by the way! They did not mess with the design a lot if you ask me. Leaving a simple EMR-06 on the front of the super thick white cardboard sleeve seemed to be appropriate enough for this odd beauty...
