Radiohead - Kid A mp3 album

Please take care in listing your record as this pressing. If you are the buyer, check with the seller to make sure they have the correct pressing. I have ordered this pressing from two different sellers and have received the Capitol pressing both times. I am probably going to keep trying until I finally get one of the records that says Parlophone, but please actually LOOK at the center labels to make sure they say Parlophone before you list it here. Do not just look at the Catalog number. Compare what you have with the pictures.

Some nasty surface noise stands out during the ambient pieces, but the audio quality itself is fine. Most of it sounds no too different from CD + streaming quality."How To Disappear Completely" really shines on wax, though. As kr9 said, it sounds a lot more defined.

Which sounds better? The original UK 10" or the 2016 UK 12" reissue?

My copy is an NA release for sure - all the markers. EXCEPT there is some extra hand etching on my runouts corresponding side - 'A4R', 'B4R', 'C1R', 'D1R'.This copy sounds great throughout, first play-through was surprisingly clean. Interested if anyone else has these etchings?edit (second play-through): Standout is 'Disappear Completely', incredible, so much definition...

Fantastic pressing. I had the 10 inch version and got rid of it. This far outweighs that.

Which ten inch version? There have been several...the original, the US capitol and the 10 inch reissue...

Surface noise is OK on sides 1-3, but HORRIBLE on side 4. I had to return the first copy I got because of a large white thing stuck to side 1. The center hole drill was really small. The new copy I got had the same problem with the center hole drill on both records. Both were too tight to fit onto my turntable without force. I had to clean up the holes with a drill bit to make it acceptable. On the second record there's also a lot of burs and roughness around the outside edge, enough that I have to be careful where I put the needle down. The manufacturing process on this leaves something to be desired. Is getting such details right really that hard when I'm forking over $25.

As of the day I write this, I bought my pressing at my local record store (USA). Pressing sounds amazing to me, no surface noise or distortion.

Both discs have noticeable surface noise (haven't cleaned them, though). LP 1 is pretty bad - listening close enough, I hear the pitch warp up and down slightly. LP 2 sounds better but not fantastic.

This pressing is atrocious... such prevalent surface noise and distortion that it makes the album impossible to enjoy. When are the Capitol-era Radiohead albums going to get the high-quality reissues they deserve?

My copy sounds great. There are a few pops here and there but cleaning improved them a lot.

One of the best vinyl pressings I have ever experienced. In stark contrast to the US & Canada version of this same issue, which is reportedly god-awful. But THIS one... it is magical. Dead quiet, beautiful sounding, superb dynamics. Just make sure you get the UK XL pressing. The way to tell is it has the XL logo very small in the lower right back corner.

They should sound the same judging from the matrix runout though. Since its identical for both only the pressing quality should differ if anything. My EU copy is pretty quiet at least, so I suppose they used worse vinyl in the US.

The US version has the Logo fully over a white backsplash.The EU version has the XL Logo half over the black and half over the white backsplash.A tiny difference which apparently indicates quite the increase in sound :)

Both the US and EU pressings have the XL logo in the bottom right corner.

So, so close to getting it in 45rpm... why this?

there is a hidden track after the last song on side delta ... you need to physically move the needle to access it

One of those albums that has to be heard on the best format possible, and this Vinyl doesn't disappoint. So much depth and you can pick out sounds that were not previously heard despite listening to this album more than any other Radiohead album. Beautiful pressing A1.

This pressing is just sort of okay... Not terrible, but not great. You may as well just buy the CD. This pressing sounds a bit a thin and lifeless. I have a feeling that XL just can't press an LP. The only good pressing I own from them is Agaetis Byrjun from Sigur Ros. Every other pressing I've gotten from them has just been anywhere from mediocre to awful.

The XL pressing of OK Computer sounds incredible.It's the only one I have though.

Just realized this release is now broken into EU and NA. Surprised so many had issues with “NA” version, while some minor crackles in Treefingers, mine is overall very quiet and sounds excellent.

Bought Argentina CD for cheap about ten years ago and sounds great to me.

This is an awful pressing. Mine sounds bland and lifeless, there's just no punch in songs like "Optimistic." What a shame, it's one of my favorite albums.

Beautiful album. You go from optimism to pessimism, yet the magnificence remains in each track. The eponym song is perfect to fall asleep.Don't hold back : buy this intense record. Especially if you like Aphex Twin and the likes. You will be really surprised in a good way.

Kid A lover...just music,great sound on my copy no clik, pops or cracks,no surface noise,so for me it's a superbe pressing.nagaoka mp300PL 570GrahamSlee Reflex...

My copy of this release included two slightly warped records but play is unaffected. Super silent vinyl. The soundstage is huge. Tones are warm but highly detailed. Vocals are natural and out front. Great bottom end and linear mix throughout. Punchy mid-bass, crystal clear mids and highs. This is an awesome mix and this pressing is equally good. Fantastic stereo effects. I highly recommend this release. (Rega Planar 3, Exact 3 cart, PSE Studio SL, Linn LK85, Linn interconnects, Linn Katans).

Not gonna lie, this sounds like absolute shit (the pressing, the actual album is great). Do not buy.

why rating the album then? . . . . .

Now on my second copy and it is riddled with surface noise which is a shame because the overall sound quality is pretty stunning. Very frustrating, especially when one is paying such a price. May have to take this one back but I think the guys in the shop will think I'm taking the piss.
