Don't listen to the other guy, The Blueprint is an absolute masterpiece and one of rap's all time classics. Insane production by Just Blaze, Kanye West and Bink! ; insane flow and delivery ; insane punchlines. This is my go-to album when I want to pump up my confidence, the powerful vibes glowing out of it are impossible to describe. His absolute best ; Reasonable Doubt is a close one and his most lyrical, but Blueprint just has got somethig special about it.

(Quick Review #15)Listen: #1This is my first listen to a Jay Z album. Originally I was going to listen to Reasonable Doubt first, but I got the vinyl of this for hella cheap and picked it up. It was a shitty pressing but unlike Kanye's Dropout I can look past the pressing on this one. I had mixed feelings when I left this album. I always enjoyed it when he was a feature on tracks, and still think he's(or he was) at his best when he feels he has to go against another MC. So as this first solo project, I left it dissapointed. If I had reviewed it right after listening to it, I probably would have given it a Decent 5. But after having given it more time to sync in, I'm enjoying a lot of songs on this album and returning to them, in particular Jigga that Nigga. So after giving it time, I have come to the conclusion. I don't think this is amazing, maybe it needs another listen (which I'll do one day) but for nowLight to Decent 7
