1. "Wolves,Lower", 2. "Moral Kiosk", 5."Moon River" and 12. "Pretty Persuasion" are songs missing from the gig. Numbers indicate position in set.

I'm not able to do an A/B comparison on two TTs at once, but I do have this and a 1983 1st pressing and played them alternately. This sounds basically the same to me, FWIW. I'm not sure this is actually remastered (there's no remastering credit on it), just a repress by Back To Black. It seems to be a good one though, nice heavy vinyl, maybe more than 180g, with the old silver I.R.S. label reproduced, printed inner sleeve, etc. If you don't have the wherewithal to hunt down a 1st press, this will be a good alternative.

I have this pressing and the original pressing. This one is much better. Can't say about the Mofi one but I am pleased with this.

I have this pressing, and it mostly sounds amazing. However, for some reason "Pilgrimage" sounds slightly muffled and lacks the same dynamic quality as all the other tracks. Anyone else notice this on theirs?

I didn’t notice it on mine. In fact, when Pilgrimage comes on after RFE, the kick of the bass is very noticeable at the start. I’m considering an upgrade to the MFSL version. While it may sound better, i don’t know if it sounds $75-$100 better.

Track 1 (Radio Free Europe) sounds super thin and bass-less on my copy of this pressing., Rest of the album sounds pretty solid though. Anyone else experience that? Just the way the song was recorded possibly?

I think I've solved the great mystery that is this pressing. Looks like it was pressed at United Record Pressing. This place is notorious for complaints on their vinyl. My own copy of this is pretty great besides a large dent (?) on side 2 track 1 that causes several large pops throughout the song. Essentially worthless for that alone. You'd think a lot of these 180g pressings would be more reliable. I'd stick with your original pressing if you already own one.

Radio Free Europe remains one of the best alt songs from the 80s

Very thin-sounding pressing. "Radio Free Europe" is pretty lifeless sounding on this. Just ordered the Back in Black 2009 Pressing hoping for more bass.

How is this a reissue if it came out in the same year of the first press?

The Reissue tag should be removed if it came out in 1983 like the first press.

To me, this sounds amazing. I thought the CD remaster was one of the best remasters I'd ever heard, and the vinyl carries that, along with being a quiet pressing with nice dynamics. I will admit to being quite fond of the thick, bassy sound of this, so I can understand how others might not feel it.

I think I'll spring for this one based on your review. My OG-press is totally flat and lifeless sounding. Bass is what it needs. Sounds like this pressing is just the ticket!

I love this album with all my being but holy moly this pressing is a disaster. Warped and scratched upon opening with fingerprints and dirt all over the wax - way too heavy on the lows and mids and not enough on the highs. Some of Peter's beautiful higher register guitar hooks are barely audible due to the horrid mixing on this press. An original CD issue sounds better than this!

I have a 1983 / 604 "B" release and its on Quiex II.

Is this version on Quiex II type vinyl? Or did they not show up till the 1984 reissue? I have a 1983 "C" pressing and it's on regular vinyl.

How's this compare to an original pressing? Was thinking of perhaps picking up a copy, my copy from 1983 has seen better days.

I just listened to my copy for the first time and I have to say I'm not impressed. I don't own an OG copy but this one sounds way too heavy on the bass and mids and sounds overcompressed in general. My Capitol reissue of Document sounds better than this, which is saying something.

I feel the same, my original pressing from 1984 is VG at this point!

I'm not a fan of my original pressing or my 180g pressing from 2009ish. The original pressing is pretty thin sounding and the repress from '09 has a pressing defect that makes it tough to play. I have this MOFI on its way. Can't wait to spin it. I hear it is quite bass-heavy, as the original tapes sounded. Should be exactly what I'm looking for. I'll report back when I get a chance to hear it.

Have both and this is excellent, I didn’t play them back to back, but I think they both sound great. Nothing to object to in this version and the background is dead quite

This is translucent brown vinyl. Some blog chatter suggests a Quiex/Quiex II pressing, still in question?

I have two copies of this. Both are identical except that one is on dark purple vinyl, so dark, in fact, that you can only tell if you hold it up to a light. I didn't know this for probably 20 after purchase. Both have (B) on the label. Should I add an entry?

I have this issue I believe, but the "rca" etching isn't scratched out like it's listed above.

Hi All, I have an album all looking the same but run outs are only SP 70604 A1 and on side 2 B1. Label is a little different ... on left of label it only states "Manufactured & Distributed by A&M Records Ltd" does not include "Original sound recording made by IRS, Inc." Looks like another pressing so if anyone has more info I will be very appreciative. Best regards, Ian from Glasgow
