Notes

Seasons was recorded on 26th June 1971. It consists of a graphic score for 4 players using metal percussion instruments only. The instruments used by Hidehiko Sato on this piece are all self built. This piece is also available on Toru Takemitsu - Miniatur IV: Art Of Toru Takemitsu

Toward uses sound material from a performance held in the Space Theatre of the Steel Pavilion in March 1970. All the players use François Baschet's sculptures. For this record, Takemitsu manipulated the tape of this performance into a new work. He produced it during November 1971 at the Electronic Music Studio at NHK.

The LP comes with an embossed cover and 4 x transparent plastic sheets with text and images printed in white.
