Ultra fine release for Charles Lloyd first ECM Records appearance after years of [Invalid Artist] band touring and related ventures. Since Loyd disappeared from the jazz scene around 1968 that new quartet mould is doing as fine as the various 1960's formations were. Deep and melancholic at times, a top-notch slightly bluesy post bop album; with even an enigmatic eastern touch title for the second track. This release can get truly mesmerising with repeated play even without attentive focused listening. Though it might not work for you if you aren't receptive to the post bop sound. No need to take it on an island cause it's one little nice one in itself! Note that the Audio CD version has an extra piece.
