Wondering what those Radio Dead Ones boys are up to these days? Well, Bev has brought the Glunk to Uber Rock with this bunch of reprobates and a most rockin' record featuring eight tracks of prime, lean Rock and fuckin' Roll. As the hi-hat counts us in 'Bonehouse Rendezvous' is off. It's loud, it's bright and it has a terrace chantalong chorus that makes this a fist pumping triumph and track one isn't even done. Straight out of the no-nonsense Black Halos / Professionals / D Gen / US Bombs / Die Hunns camp this is a breeze. I don't even really need to listen to the other seven songs on offer because I know the deal and I like it - no, scratch that, I don't just like it I love it! 'Slay The Demons' is to the point and just simply kicks major backside. It doesn't fuck about trying to be clever or different for the sake of it and the band simply just do what is in their hearts and it's all the better for it and, of course, they know exactly how to Rock and fucking Roll! 'Fade & Fallin' is what Backyard Babies wish they could still be, whereas 'I Won't Back Down' is a little restrained on the verses before breaking out in one of those late night singalong choruses that really works well and the guitar playing sounds great as the solos really cut through. Timeless and superbly executed. 'Home' is one for putting your arms around your mates and throwing beer in the air knowing that the band are bringing the good times. This is rock and fucking roll and the old guard can move over because these cats have the chops and are delivering them in spades. It might not be the longest record you'll hear this year but, damn, find me one with more passion and bollocks - it's like prime time and they've saved the best til last with the one two of 'Pack Of Hounds' with its ringing backing vocals and solid bass line as the guitars ring out. Man, I love this and could listen all day! But they have saved the best until last as the rocket ride of 'Stay Away' is a thing of beauty and it's like the Star Spangles never went away and you just want to join in shouting out the chorus. What a triumph! Berlin Blackouts is the name and 'Bonehouse Rendezvous' is the album and if you ever loved loud guitars then this is the payload for you. Check 'em out and turn it up. (Uberrock.co.uk)
