STEVE JOLLIFFE - WARRIOR (Waveform 920728G) CD 46mI suppose it must be said that of all the ex-members of Tangerine Dream gone solo (after Klaus Schulze) Steve Jolliffe is the only one to have held true to his ideals and continue to create inventive music. ESCAPE reaffirmed this, and WARRIOR certainly proves a point that Steve Jolliffe is amongst the finest instrumental music composers around. Dedicated to the American Indian, though musically you'd never guess it, this is much more a synth-rock album than any of his previous, almost a step back to CYCLONE with powerful rhythmical tracks, filled out with lots of keyboards and synths, and (where needed) some dazzling flute and tasteful saxophone. Really this is one of Jolliffe's finest albums to date.from my review in Audion magazine #23 (Nov.1992)(with Jolliffe corrected!)
