Notes

NOTE: The Original Camerons and The Camerons are two separate groups from the early 60s. The Original Camerons were blind, black youths from the Bronx area. The Camerons went on to be known as The Demilles and the Glen Stuart Chorus.

Lou Cicchetti owned Cousins record store in the Bronx which was frequented by many local neighborhood groups. These groups wanted Lou to record the songs they were singing on the street corner and help propel them to stardom.

It was the demo of Barbara Ann by the Regents which Mr. Chicchetti released on his label "Cousins" that brought him into the public eye of the American recording buying teenager. The record eventually sold to "Gee", it became a monster hit in 1961 for the Regents and again in 1965 for the Beach Boys.
Bele
I worked at Cousins on Fordham Rd. for 5 years in the late 60s and early 70s. Groups were always coming in trying to replicate the example of Barbara Ann. It was a fun place to work and grow up. Lou Chicchetti was the quickest man with a comment and always had way of expressing himself, which I will never forget. Learned a lot from him and the Cousins crowd during those great years.
