It mystifies me that this gets called hard rock. It has far more common with new wave like Men At Work than anything else. It's always ridiculous when people project expectations onto a group's later output rather than listening with open ears. The was a huge single off the group's most successful album since the early 1970s; obviously they had been paying attention to the type of music that was becoming popular in 1980 and decided to absorb some of the styles. "Burnin'" is an excellent synthesis of those new wave traits within BÖC's established sound. Successful and good, yes. Hard rock? Nope.
