It seems this group has tried very different pop styles, without adopting any.The B side is an instrumental traditional folk dance tuneThe A side sounds like a 100% garage track from Madagascar, with '50s sounding electric guitar, bass, drums, basic organ, shouts, lots a great soli or duets, well played. The lyrics, sung in French, are rather weird, the kind you finally wonder what they meant to say.It talks about the "HIPPIE LIFE", and the less we can say is this life's no fun... Below are the original lyrics of the song "Vie hippie" plus an English language translation.(I'm not 100% sure about the end, maybe I lost something.)Je suis pauvre je le saispersonne ne veut me parlermes amis sont partisles flics me courent aprèsje n'ai mène pas de papiersje ne mange presque pasje me couche où ça me vacar je mène la vraie vie hippieJe longe les rues sans butma montre je l'ai venduema femme je l'ai perdueun sou moi je n'en ai pluscette vie je l'ai pas voulueje suis seul dans la vieje sais plus si je m'enfuiscar je mène la vraie vie hippie !Je vis je ne sais oula nuit je m'promène partoutles gens me traitent de fouça c'est parce qu'ils sont jalouxils ne savent rien du toutpour moi ça c'est ma vieaux Etats-Unis comme on ditque les jeunes ont cette vie English translation :I am poor, I knownobody wants to talk to memy friends are gonethe cops are after meI don't even have IDsI eat almost nothingI sleep where I feel likefor I leave the real hippie-life I walk along the streets without a goalmy watch I soldmy wife I losta coin, me I don't have any morethis life I didn't wantI am alone in lifeI don't know anymore if I'm flying awayfor I leave the real hippie-life I leave I don't know whereat night I wander around everywherepeople say I'm crazythis is because they're jealousthey don't know any thingfor me this is my lifein the United States like one saysthat the young have this life

Good job ! Los Matadores is a band created in Diago Suarez (north-west of Madagascar) in the mid 70's under the leadership of Marcello Paperi, a retired army legionnaire from Italy. He was not a musician but he loved music. He held a restaurant called "Le Saigonnais" where the band made sessions and played. Many of the band's tracks were inspired by him. He even wrote titles for these daughters (Alda...) and even sang them. One of their titles is: "In Italy In Napoli" and referring to the origins of the father. The group "Los Matadores" was composed of musicians from all over the Indian Ocean but also beyond, such as Barboza, the saxophonist who came from Argentina. Many of the soldiers who stopped at Diego Suarez knew this restaurant and this famous group.
