from my Italian Progressive Rock reissue explosion Part 2 feature in Audion 23 (Nov.1992)The most surprising is one by Franco Leprino, INTEGRATI... DISINTEGRATI isn't really a progressive rock album, but I suppose more an experimental synth and guitar album sitting betwixt the avant-garde and ambient musics. Latterly the likes of Riccardo Sinigaglia, Musci & Venosta, Arturo Stalteri, further developed this uniquely Italian blend of musics, and Leprino's music is just as fascinating. His concoction of multi-guitars (mostly acoustic), gentle synths, Satiesque piano, use of sound effects, electronic treatments, etc., adds up to a continually fascinating and surprising album.

When the 12 string comes in at the start over the Moog you know the era this is from immediately. Like an obscure punk pirate tape from 1971 this is as much a document of the inventiveness in Italy from 1977. Makes me want to go to Italy and see if you can look beyond all the crass beach parties and house clubs to see what this forebearer was on.
