When I first saw the track list I thought interesting as I actually had most of these tracks already but having listened to it a few times I agree with what's already been said. Doesn't flow too well, some interesting mixing but not a very strong album.

Have to agree with djdamnage, in that there is something lacking about the way this one flows. Some clever mixing later on still doesn't rescue it for me. Does anyone know who mixed the drum & bass version of Barrel of a Gun on here?

i just want to say that this is possibly the best (at least in the top 3) of this excellent and long-running series.

I hate to say this, being the huge Underworld fan that I am, but this is my least favorite in the "Back to Mine" series (Talvin Singh's being my fav so far). There really is no continuity within this comp, there are some good tracks here and there, but overall they don't come together very well. Its as if Karl and Rick were trying to hard to cover too many bases on a single CD. They should have stuck to one aspect of their influences (just as long as its not that 80's synth pop stuff or whatever inspired them to write "Doot-Doot") and ran with that instead.

Tracks 1 to 6 are in fact unmixed. Very nice to hear them in their "full length versions". Excerpt from Underworld's sleeve notes: "We didn't do the beat-matching/cross-fade thing on the first half of the album. We did try it, but for loads of different reasons we didn't like the result."
