"‘Pink Noise’ might be best described as that soft hiss of a tape running its margin at the end of a side, as the sound of ‘the ocean’ heard from within a shell or even as the roar of heavy rain on a tin roof. This album is the result of an open-call collaboration effort started by Rónan McGrath which had the aim of producing a collection of short ambient tracks composed using only the ‘Pink Noise’ and ‘Tone’ generator tools in Soundforge’s freeware recording program Audacity. Simultaneously surreal and visceral, The Rose Tree is an immersive experience."
