One of my favourite detroit techno records ever. Tobacco ties is a little know classic rivalling Jaguar if you ask me.

In my opinion, the Red Planet project has lost it's way somewhat. The curse of being a great producer/production team is that you create extremely high standards which you sometimes will inevitably fail to live up to. The good thing about this 7" version of 'Tobacco Ties, is the exclusive B side track 'Spacewalker'. It has that Martian magic, for me. The criteria as I see them: Strictly techno, great mixing tool, undeniably Negro-ish (there's something of classic rhythm & blues in the bass sequence) and invokes an irresistable urge to dance. Flippin' ace! (And reassuring about the future of this label.)
RED
"undeniably Negro-ish"! You sad pseudo intellectual loser! What decade are you in?
