If someone asked me what techno music is I would make him listen to this masterpiece. Loopy, pounding, psychedelic.The three artists styles are perfectly mashed but in my opinion one of them shines in each track like they are taking turns playing b2b. A1 is Function with some banging percussions tearing the roof off, A2 Slater deploying an army of manic synths & B1 the master of the loop, the one and only Steve Bicknell with a bleepy techno tunnel.One of my fav releases of 2017!

The cover and the release title might have you confused, thinking you've just purchased a mid nineties Dragonfly Records release. In reality, you have invested your money in a three tracker produced by Luke Slater, Steve Bicknell and Dave Sumner.No, that was not a joke.This piece of wax has everything you would ever want from a techno record brought to you by the Lost frontman, Function and Planetary Assault Systems.Insatiable, pounding, percussive madness of Process 1. Awkward, off-key electronics and heavy eq-tweaking of Process 2. Deep, hazy and foggy space time excursions of Process 3. I personally love the puristic, energetic approach. It has all three producers at their most functional, club oriented and intense.An armour-plated techno groove dominates the first track, where slamming drums leave little to no space for anything else. Regardless, some distant sonar transmissions are heard echoing in the background.The second piece follows with nervous Slaterish synth arrangements, delivering a high pitched sequence that goes hand in glove with the rough 'n' rugged drums rolls underneath.The last track has it all. Spacey vibe, lush interstellar cascading synths, slick transitions from more beat driven passages to the more atmospheric, laid back ones. As if anything on this record can be called laid back. In places, I'd dare it evokes certain moods that one could find on Jeff Mills' Something In The Sky imprint.In my opinion, this is anything but a marketing scheme or a wise PR stunt. This record exemplifies what a studio collaboration should sound like. Three legends of the scene delivering three bestial tunes to get banged out to the satisfaction of the chronically hungry ravers. As such, I highly recommend this heavy, jet fueled techno package. None of that artistic foreplay found here. Techno, from the front cover all the way to the very last page.

This is exactly the way Techno should be. Instant classic.
