"I do not look like my mother and I do not look like my father" Plus "The Rhythm" is sampled from a Grace Jones record believe it or not...........https://www.discogs.com/Grace-Jones-Esclava-Del-Ritmo-Slave-To-The-Rhythm/master/56303

First time I heard the Urbanoise track was in a club in Rotterdam called Parkzicht... I still see all those party peeps going bezerk on it. The chopping and grinding synth just kept you going and it took me over a year to grab a hold of the vinyl to play it myself... Took me a while to recognize it as a Defcon track.... that we're the charmes of those day, you could recognize a track when played, but getting it fysically was a different taskPlayed it more often than the backside though , A1 was my only reason to go hunt for this record but was good to find the Blob on the back.

I just love this release. The A side 'Urbanoise' is somewhat reminiscent of Mentasm (by Second Phase aka Joey Beltram and Mundo Muzique) in that it takes a single synth noise and instead of just playing riffs with it, it gets twisted, stretched and chopped about in all different directions. Add a stomping underlying beat for it to ride on and the result is a great techno track.'Blob' is quite different, taking an alarm sounding stab and playing it offbeat over a fast distorted thump of a kickdrum and a nice breakbeat. A simple but effective combination which you just can't help but nod your head to.
