Throw her heart
Mine plays just fine, anyone know how many were pressed?
Vaua
My copy sounds good. I love this album. My pressing is more pink than red but it doesn't really matters.
Yndanol
My copy sounds excellent and is being played through a decent and rather analytical stereo setup.
Akta
2 different copies were scratched:My first copy came with some scratch marks & weird black ink dots.Received a replacement from the website I ordered from, again big scratch mark.Needless to say both copies were perfectly sealed and packaged so it's 100% due to the pressing.
Taur
My copy sounds perfect. Might've been a more recent pressing in my case.
Vutaur
The runout on my B-side is 149543E2/C, and it sounds great. Barely any noise if any.
Hawk Flying
Yikes, I'm kinda scared to give this a spin after seeing the issues others have here! I'll report back
Mr.mclav
My copy is clean and flat. Only a few clicks, haven't done any wet cleaning yet. As for the album, absolutely love it. Probably my favorite Tycho album as a whole.
Yayrel
my copy sounds perfect, no pops or clicks. This is a really excellent record.
Bragis
The vinyl was perfectly packaged and the delicious red record looks wonderful. However, on first and second listen the pressing is loaded with clicks and pops. Its not just noisy, its progressively catastrophic to listen to. The lovely crescendo of Tycho's electronic beauty is marred especially on softer ambient areas. Side A is listenable, but side B is literally unlistenable. From B02 Source on, pops and clicks grow, overwhelming even the louder sections of the track. This continues throughout side B. I did a wet-vac cleaning of side B and there was zero improvement. With my copy of Epoch, the pops and crinkly noises are unbearable. My 6, 9, and 13 year olds were all in agreement and we couldn't sit through a full second listen. They were really pumped for this album. We discovered Tycho together playing Hohokum, and the gorgeous splattery rainbow soundtrack to Hohokum on vinyl is one of their favorite records.
Agamaginn
This could have been my review. Side A is listenable but side b, especially during quiet passages, is very hard to listen to. Such a bummer.
Kazracage
Fair bit of surface noise on my LP, even after wet cleaning it. Side B is especially bad.
Fek
Same here. It's a bummer considering how great beige Awake sounds.
Punind
Beautiful packaging as one would expect from Tycho. Printed inner sleeve is unlined, some surface noise was definitely present on first play through. A turn on the vacuum cleaner made a significant difference. Wish that the record had come with a better inner sleeve and turned the printed inner into a simple insert instead.Reviewing the actual music, IMO this is Tycho's best work since his early days. Epoch is a very refreshing take an a throwback to the early days. Definitely worth picking up for Tycho fans, especially those like me that were a little disappointed in the slow pacing of Awake. The dance element is back.-- EDIT TO MY ORIGINAL REVIEW --It appears that there are definitely some poor pressings of this that got out into the wild, as others were having the same issues I was during the same parts of the record. I emailed Ghostly and immediately received a replacement record which plays perfectly. If you are having issues I would strongly recommend going back to your vendor and asking for a replacement. As a test, play B2 Source -- if you are getting nastiness near the beginning of the track your record is borked.
