Sing for a Drink Remix topples both the original version and the Dave Clarke Mix, hands down. Cryptic vocals, hard-edged bassline, and a hypnotic and catchy guitar rift that evokes the songs progression. The heavy bassline alone makes this version a killer track. Underrated remix. 5/5

As I am quite sure this is one of the best single releases that I own. I could enjoy listening to 'Rocco' over and over again. I like the artwork, the songs and the shivers that this music is giving to me. Normally I would be to lazy to write some reviews about singles, but I just found out (about some minutes ago) where the beat samples of "City Rub" came from. I don't know if this song is the origin of the sample, but you can hear the beats in the song 'Doowutchyalike" by Digital Underground. I don't know wheter I should write it in the release notes or leave it out. Never mind, those are 4 great songs for relaxing or having a night only laying around! They are deep and beautiful!

Rocco is a straighforward breaks cut with a bluesy vocalsample and some guitarnoodling in it's original album version. The dub works as a darker bassheavy rework with the guitar expanded & the vocalsample spliced down to just brief echoed gibberish, this does it's job well and is perfect for the dancefloor. The 'Sing for a drink' is somewhat a hybrid between the main and the dub but with some four on the floor action along with it. Dave Clarke goes for a hard rendition on this, opening with a deep bellowing bass he then unleashed pure & refined madness with some oldschool breakbeatloops. Heard it first on Carl Cox's second FACT compilation where he opens his second CD with it. Dave knocked this one out of the park, it's a hybrid between '97 style bigbeat and '90's style hardcore and keeps it fun yet ominous.
