Faulkree
From the first track, you get a feel for the intense trip you're about to take with Leviathan. A tidal wave of riffs, machine-tight percussion, and vocals that range from primal cries of man to crowd-chants reminiscent of the hardcore and post-hardcore of your school days. The cleans on the second track are a nice touch, as is the southern guitar jangle that appears briefly on track 4. There really isn't a bad song on here, it's a fun and engaging experience front to back. however, if there was an element to blame for some of the songs dragging a little, it would be the vocals. When they're good, they're fucking stellar. But some of the strained yelling that occurs on a song like 'I Am Ahab' just doesn't jive with the overall tone of the record. Really great album from a band known for being great! 8/10.
