Captain Beefheart and Jim Morrison - Poet Rock Musicians Of The Desert mp3 album

There is no rhyme or reason for this creation of rhymes, other than the premise that both were arguably "poets". A tragic plundering of Beefheart work, without context and edited content leading the unsuspecting to believe the two may have worked together, which they certainly never did. It would definitely be more interesting than this release if they had.Much of the Beefheart material has been hacked from readings that were on the CD contained in the hardback limited edition of "Stand Up To Be Discontinued", his art catalogue published in 1993. Further material comes from one of the two CDs in the "Riding Some Kind Of Unusual Skull Sleigh" limited edition art package created by Rhino Handmade in 2004. Later band stalwart Gary Lucas gets roped in too, with two chunks from his stage readings on band tours. I hate to imagine what Morrison fans think of this aberration. Two great artists, badly represented. Somebody at the label needs to be staked-out in the desert under a Full Moon Hot Sun.

It's OZit Records, what do you expect. They're notorious for this kind of hack job cash in. That whole label and all their poxy releases should be buried under a landslide and forgotten.
