VAZGINO
Centuries is a mostly repetitive single from the Dassing brothers, but fortunately contains two stand out tracks that are worth getting this for. Lightyear (Equation) starts off with a typical electro-industrial mixture of heavy, breaky drums and a simple bassline, but soon adds beautiful strings and a catchy 4/4 beat. The vocals are also mixed much better than on the original version, which seemed a bit harsh and over the top. All in all this has to be my favorite Mentallo track. Then we move on to Stellar Cascade, which is a masterpiece of sweeping ambient pads and extremely dense percussion. More IDM than industrial, this is a very unique sound that I wish the Dassing brothers explored further. My favorite thing in this track is the sample from the movie The Prophecy ("Why don't you just ask God?" "Because... God doesn't talk to me anymore"). As for the Other World Technology mixes... they all sound about the same with very minimal variations between them. Kind of catchy, but they pale in comparison to Lightyear and Stellar Cascade.

Here we have a pretty average single by the brothers with their masterful touch of complex drums and ambient keys. We have four versions of "Other World Technology". The first mix has fast tempo and great bass lines. The lyrics are pretty basic with the whole "You'll suffer attitude" but I like it well enough with this band. We then have a shorter instrumental version. The track 5 version is another cut that doesn't sound a whole lot different. Track 6 is a version that has more of a dance vibe to it with a more repetitive bass line than the original mix. The two other tracks are actually better than OWT. 'Lightyear' is a long slow movement of hard drums and great keyboards. 'Stellar Cascade' happens to be my favorite Mentallo & The Fixer track. It starts off with an ambient riff and then goes into the distinctive sound they carry. The lyrics rock and there's a lot of great keyboard notes in this track. The vocals are well brought up to and I feel like singing along with this track more than any other MTF one. I would have been happy with just the first 4 tracks on this single as the last two just play OWT to death.
