This track has always been one of my favorites. It expresses pure magic and freedom. It still is one of the most played tracks everywhere in Belgium on retro parties. The actual text he is singing is: "open your eyes, and see... the child you are". Does anybody know who is singing this text? Was it Etienne Vandewiele himself? Anyway, too bad nalin & kane "stole" the track. All credits go out to the at the villa people!

Yes, it's a Nalin + Kane remix only, though the label who kept Nalin + Kane were probably trying to get some income from the N + K name some time after Beachball. Nothing wrong with it - sometimes from the mid 80s hose times, an outfit would steal basically a whole old track and mix it around, released under a new name.Court cases in the later 80s defined that you had to attribute correctly and pay full royalties to the original composers. And so, this established that acts remixed, paying proper attribution, though the mix could have a new name.

Nalin & Kane never stole the track!Track is credited to Bruno Quartier & Etienne Vandewiele as writers & composers!Look @ credits of this release https://www.discogs.com/Nalin-Kane-Open-Your-Eyes/release/46246

Open Your Eyes is the BEST track I ever heard.. Really, it's just wonderfull how a track can be this good! I really like it, it gives me a wonderfull feeling! Too bad almost nobody these days know it's from At The Villa People and not by Nalin & Kane... For the one that want's to know the lyric, I think it is "Open Your Eyes... And See... The Child You Are..." I really LOVE this track! :D Too bad ATV burned down before I ever managed to get there :( This really could have been one of my favourite places!

Definitely one of the best true Trance tracks. It's very melodic yet never commercial and it has withstood the test of time with verve! The latter is proven by Nalin & Kane's mix in 1999 which hardly differs from it's original. Always wondered what the guy was singing though? ,...my guess:"Open Your Eyes, Can't You See, is the child you are?"

"Open your eyes,And See,The child you are".(Repeated)The simplicity and force comes in the greatly simple lyrics repeated.I think the lyrics sound clearer in the later Nalin + Kane retitled mix.

Last year (2010) there where again some new versions of this incredible track. The artist name this time was Phonjaxx and the titel "Open Your Eyes Again" and it hit the Dance Charts in germany again.

Super track ! It was a dance floor bomd in Belgium mid 90's in notorious clubs like La Rocca, Cafe Local, At The Villa, ... I still play it and every time the dancefloor gets packed ! It has a very good high, play with the bass and treble and you burn the dancefloor !

I'm sure you're right - thay some version of this came years before 98.I also remember associating it with Belgium, and I even think as far back as 92-93, maybe even before. In those earlier days there were white labels + tracks still ('still' because it was common since the later 80s) circulated from pro + home studios on cassette mixed in with the released or to-be-released vinyl.
